Barbie Movie (Date 🎬 Night)

Me by a huge photo of the fabulous Elizabeth Taylor.

Another fun filled date night out with my husband! Our 1st time going to the theater together. My 1st time going to see a movie in over a decade!

We ALWAYS have fun together, no matter where we go! We throughly enjoy each other's company, and we laugh a lot.

It was a decent movie overall. We left just before it ended. The ending wasn't as good as the beginning. No Barbie box no, Barbie movie popcorn box, etc.

I got some yummy candy, popcorn 🍿, a hotdog 🌭, and nachos 😋 with extra cheese! My taste buds were happy, but my stomach is not happy this morning!

The movie sets were amazing, and so was the wardrobe! It would truly be a dream job to be a wardrobe stylist, or hair stylist on a major motion picture movie set, one-day!

Lots of ethnicities represented, but no Indian Barbie characters. Funny at times, women empowering, but nothing was really great except the wardrobe.

As far as the movie goers; no one was dressed up, but me. They should definitely do a Dolls of the World movie, because those collectibles are an awesome collection representing ethnicities all over the world.

I didn't expect an Indian Ken with a turban, or an Indian Barbie wearing a bindi, henna, and a lehenga, but they could have at least added just one Indian Barbie character.

My Barbie enjoying the movie in my husband's vest pocket!

I think my husband liked the movie. He doesn't know much about the history of Barbie. I explained to him when Barbie 1st came out which was 1959. The original Barbie is now worth thousands of dollars if she's in perfect condition, and in her original sealed box.

"What was the very first Barbie doll?

In March 1959, a doll named "Barbie" launched onto the American toy market, sporting a black-and-white striped bathing suit, pouty red lips and a sassy blonde ponytail. The leggy, 11-inch plastic figure—full name: Barbara Millicent Roberts—was the first mass-produced toy doll in the U.S. with adult features."

I'm my husband's Barbie doll!

I noticed there was no Asian Barbie, only an Asian Ken character. As I mentioned above; there's a collection of Barbie collectibles called, "Dolls of the World ". They have Barbies in authentic, traditional clothing from countries all around the world. I used to own a few.

It really would have been nice to see an Indian Barbie character. Even if she was dressed in modern-day Western style attire, it would have been nice to see India represented. 🇮🇳

All the Barbies above are definitely not cheap. You can find them on Amazon, Etsy, Ebay, and at many online stores. On Ebay they have some that aren't necessarily expensive, and you can bid on them.

My Barbie pink bodysuit came from Fashion Nova. They recently had a major sale on all their pink items. I also purchased a Barbie bathing suit, and it's too adorable!

Although, I loved the bodysuit; I feel it would look better on someone with more body, more curves, and a size bigger than me! I simply have no hips, and my bottom isn't big. It was super comfy & cute, but I don't think it flattered my body shape.

I wore black under garments, underneath it. I paired it with gold jewelry, black & gold belt, black mules with a kitten heel, and tiny black purse.

My black Bob wig is one of my all-time favorite styles! The Bob wig first became popular in the 1920's, and after 100 years; it remains a very popular style all over the world, in different variations.

My Barbie I took photos with, a took to the movie; was purchased on Amazon for about $5. She's a beautiful African American ballerina.

Bobbi Boss lace front Bob wig.

I love Bobbi Boss lace front wigs! I think I'll do a bit more customizing in the front. This brand makes high quality synthetic wigs, and human hair wigs & ponytails. Their lace front wigs come already customized, and you only need to cut off the excess lace in the front. The range from like $25 on up.

I used to own this exact style wig years ago, but it got lost in shipping like 2 years ago. I highly suggest buying 2 of the same wigs if you find a style you adore, and the price is low!

You never know if the price will rise, one-day, or if they'll stop making that exact style. You may end up finding a seller, selling the exact wig you want, but for soooo much more; if you wait years to order a second one.

It's like with the huge gold hoop earrings I'm wearing here. They're from Fashion Nova. They are currently sold out, and my Mother wants my pair! Since they're costume jewelry, and were very inexpensive; I should have bought 2 pair of the same style, before they sold out!

I am my husband's doll!

Our very 1st time going to see a movie, but undoubtedly not our last!

I was the only one dressed up, and not very many people were even wearing pink. I love dressing up for my husband! He always compliments my styling efforts, and wardrobe selections.

I definitely do not feel people who've been married, or in a relationship for a long time; should STOP making the effort to dress up, or simply dress nicely.

I don't think modeling has anything to do with it, because I know soooo many women who are not models, but still make a positive effort to look their best when out in public; alone, or with their husband!

Why do you need a special occasion, or holiday to roll around once a year; to put your best foot forward, and dress up!? I do realize many women do not know how to put on makeup properly, do their hair in fabulous styles, style a wig, or put together an out that flatters them. However; soooo many women of all ages, do!

I know older women, and old ladies that have been married 30 years or more; they still wake up, and make the effort to look lovely! They apply make-up, daily, or when they know they'll have visitors, or will be going out in public. They do, or get their fingernails/toenails manicured.

I say; initially do it for YOURSELF, and if not for yourself; then make visible effort for your spouse!

Proper personal hygiene, good grooming habits, and dressing nicely; has no gender roles! You absolutely, positively do not need to dress upscale, or spend hours getting dolled up, or dapper; to make a small effort to look decent, or casually nice!

Barbie movie attire.

The image above was just for fun. I create a mini Barbie set, and wanted to test out the lighting!

You know, if I had to wear the same hairdo, and same style clothing everyday; I'd be extremely unhappy, and would feel like I've lost my true identity!

Fashion is a huge passion of mine! I ABSOLUTELY adore vintage fashions, especially from the 1940's, and 1950's! Those 2 era's are my favorite to recreate, and dress myself in; whereas modern-day fashion is my least favorite.

With my Barbie backdrop I created; I plan to take a variety of different style photos. I'm excited to be creative, use my imagination, utilize my talent, experience, and education in fashion! Product shots, and magazine publication is my goal for using this set!

I'm hoping one of my favorite photographers can place me in a Barbie box; especially since they didn't have one at the movie theater we went to, yesterday. I definitely, definitely want to do a Dolls of the World theme, as an Indian Barbie!

Although, I'm not Indian, I am directly associated with the culture, because of my religion, and my husband! Punjabi attire is so beautiful, and the Punjabi culture is rich with history & amazing style!

Plus, I know with the proper hairdo, makeup, and wardrobe; I will look like a Punjabi doll! Soooo many people think I'm Indian or Punjabi! I definitely feel it's a super awesome compliment!
