My wedding lehenga & jewelry arrived, yesterday! It's an absolute dream! I'm 110% satisfied, and I'll be so blessed the day I can finally get married in it!
Wedding lehenga, jewelry, shoes & purse
My wedding slippers arrived last week, fit perfectly, and totally match my gown! They're super comfy, and made with high quality material.
I'll definitely be wearing them with different outfits, but I'll wait until after I wear them for our wedding. They weren't exactly cheap, but notterribly expensive, either. Purchased on Amazon, and made in India.
My wedding purse also arrived last week. I feel it matches with my shoes & lehenga. It has plenty of room for my cellphone, some lip gloss, makeup powder, and a few other things. I think it'll work perfectly for carrying a few items, comfortably, on our big day!
It was inexpensive, and purchased on Amazon. I do believe it was made in India. I am considering finding a light gold purse that better matches my dress & slippers. It's just been difficult finding one that will fit everything inside, and that has a handle I like, or drawstrings; which I prefer, because I don't want a clutch style purse.
Extremely satisfied with my lovely wedding jewelry set! My husband seriously loves it. The craftsmanship is top notch, high quality materials, and the design is stunning. It looks great with my wedding lehenga. It's also fairly heavy in weight.
We purchased this from the same website my lehenga came from, and it was made in India. The shipping was fast, and I'll probably end up wearing this set, again, after our wedding.
I feel like I'm officially getting married, now! Wedding is months away, but my lehenga's arrival marks off a significant task on our wedding checklist.
It's semi-stitched, so I must find an excellent tailor/seamstress to complete the job. I've read it may cost $100 to $300 to sew to my exact measurements. It'll be well worth it, if it's done correctly.
The skirt will definitely fit me once it's altered. I'm just a bit skeptical about the top fitting. It appears to have enough material, but I honestly won't know, for sure, if it'll fit me properly until after; I get my measurements done & the tailor has time to do their work.
The top comes in 2 separate pieces. A solid pink for underneath the top part, which is mesh with beautiful embroidery. The pattern is cut, and I just pray there's enough material to fit me.
This is undoubtedly no, "off the rack", wedding dress. Not just, because it comes semi-stitched, but mainly due to the fact; that the material is such high quality, amazingly beautiful embroidery, and has like 4 layers.
I was wondering if I'd need to purchase a petticoatcoat, but apparently it has one; of several layers already built in, underneath! The only thing that would have made this very detailed, high quality, absolutely exquisite lehenga better; if it arrived fully stitched.
I do recommend get a high quality custom-made gown for your wedding, because it'll fit perfectly according to your exact body measurements.
Although, the material is quite heavy on the skirt; I do fee it'll still be fairly comfortable to walk in, sit in, and wear for hours on our wedding day. We'll be taking many photos, walking into the Gurdwara, sitting on the carpet for about an hour, then sitting in chairs as we dine during our wedding reception lunch.
I want the skirt part to have enough room, so that my skin on my mid section isn't poking out. I don't want it to be so loose, though, that it has to constantly be adjusted.
I don't think I'd feel comfortable in the Gurdwara, or around family with my belly button exposed. In the product shots the model's belly button is shown.
I'm definitely not worried about loosing any weight, or feel unhappy with my stomach area! One thing I'll NEVER EVER do, is allow myself to get so out of shape; that I hate my stomach!
I'm pretty much satisfied with my current weight. I'm 5'9, 160 pounds or so. I may possibly tone up, just a bit, by our wedding day, but it's definitely not solely for that date.
I'm completely against crash diets, because they're simply unhealthy to do to your body. Plus, I've seen women, in particular, loose x amount of pounds just to fit into a dress they will only wear once; then after an event that gain it all back, and sometimes even more!
Nothing wrong with toning up my upper body, or mid section, but it definitely isn't a temporary goal just to fit into something I'll only wear once! I'd like to try on our wedding attire years from now, to see how it fits compared to on our wedding day.
Now, it'll be at least a month & a half before I can get my top measurements done. I have my current measurements, but they'll change in my breast area next month. So, no point in taking it to a seamstress until after I'm fully ready.
I can't do a wedding attire wardrobe test until after I get my new measurements taken, and the tailor has completed the full alterations. So, look for my official wardrobe test, possibly in mid, or late September!
I'll be doing a hairstyling test, because I'm styling my own wedding hairdo, and I need to know for sure; the exact style I've invisioned & will create will be stunning.
My goal is to do my official wardrobe test, and hairstyle test on the same day, and wear everything; my lehenga, shoes, jewelry, accessories, and exact hairdo; visually see how everything looks altogether, and take some photos.
Once my gown is completely done, we'll take our wedding attire to be pressed & dry cleaned. The tailor may, or may not press it for me, and I'll definitely find out once I take the lehenga to be altered.
For now, I'm absolutely, positively in love with my lehenga, and everything else!
I'm on a mission to find the perfect color red chuda's, aka my significant wedding bangles. Since there's a million colors to choose from, it shouldn't be too difficult to find a set with the same shade of red inside my dress design.
I did take a 4 1/2 minute video of me showing this magnificent gown, yesterday, as I took photos, but it won't load in this blog. I'm guessing the file is too large, but it was successfully posted on Facebook.
