"S" Is For Singh & Sikh (What's I'm My Wedding Bag?)

Took inventory as I was organizing more things in my wedding bag, yesterday!

Wedding planning can undoubtedly be quite stressful, but definitely so much fun. Although, our wedding is months away it takes months to plan; even a small, simplistic wedding!

I actually love organizing, especially my bridal & wedding items. I began awhile back, by purchasing my lovely tote bag, with a huge S on it; from Amazon. Inexpensive, but definitely quality material, and adorable.

I started by adding wedding day essentials, and items I'll use to create my bridal look. It feels great to be organized, and have everything all in one bag. The tote bag is big enough to add a few more items, but for now, I'm happy with everything inside.

So, what's in my wedding tote bag? Here's a list of most of the things inside:

Traditional Punjabi style slippers

Flat irons

Bobby pins, hair clips, elastic hair ties

My bridal jewelry set

My wedding purse

A teeth whitening strip, twizers, fingernail clippers, emery board

False lashes, eye lash glue

Eyeliner, mascara

Brand new pair of seamless undies by Lane Bryant

My husband's wedding band

Hair spray, rat tail comb

Brand new, super long, jet black, straight ponytail extension

Jet black braid crown

I'll add my new, white, super soft & comfy slippers that are perfect for wearing the morning of our wedding while I get myself dolled up, do my hair, and get my makeup professionally done. I have the perfect silky robe by Frederick's of Hollywood to also wear during my styling process.

I look forward to having a professional makeup 💄 artist do my bridal makeup. I rarely ever get my makeup professionally done! I've been applying my own makeup since I was a teenager, and years ago; I took several online makeup artistry courses.

My bridal hairdo is something I've invisioned in my head for months, now. It'll be fairly intricate, and detailed. I'll use 2 hair pieces to create the hairstyle, several bobby pins, lots of hair products from DAX, hair ties, and 2 beautiful jewled bobby pins/hair clips.

The jeweled bobby pins/hair clips have rhinestones, and pink jewels that match my lehenga. They will be utilized to secure my dupatta on my head for the wedding ceremony at the Gurdwara.

This is a photo of my ballerina Barbie, who has been in my wedding bag for a few weeks, and my DAX pack sack. Inside are the awesome haircare products I'll use to create my fabulous bridal hairdo.

Hair conditioner that I'll use to condition my hair after it's washed, and it'll sit in my hair for about an hour; then I'll wash it out, and let my hair air dry.

Many other products will be used on different areas of my hair, and my ponytail extension. DAX has been a household name for Black Americans since the 70's! I've used their products for over 25 years.

My Mother used to use it, and now they have a brand new line of products for those that keep their hair natural; using no heat to style their hair. It's perfect for my naturally curly, thick hair. The have a variety of DAX for Naturals products, and I have them all. Natural ingredients, and they all smell so lovely.

I pretty much know the exact bridal makeup look I'm going for, and sometime next month I'll choose my makeup 💄 artist 🎨. What I plan to do is to book an appointment to get them to do my makeup, before the wedding. That way, I can see their skills, and be confident they'll create a professional looking fabulous job.

Since our wedding ceremony will take place in the morning, I'll be booking a traveling makeup artist. He or she will travel to our home to style my makeup, and my cousins makeup. My Mother may, or may not get her makeup done, too.

I think it'll be best for me to shower, do my bridal hairstyle; then get my makeup done. So, while I'm styling my hair my cousin can get her makeup done 1st.

Every pre-wedding ceremony, or event will be captured on videos & in images by me. When me, my Mother, and cousin go get our manicure/pedicure at a salon, when my cousin and I have our mini Mehndi party at a henna salon, our pre-wedding dinner, and while we're all getting dolled up the morning of the wedding; I'll setup my tripod & capture everything!

Since I've never worn this beautiful Punjabi suit, yet, I've decided to wear it for my mini Mehndi party. It's kind of fancy, and definitely vintage looking. A celebration is worth getting dolled up for, and dressed up to do. If it doesn't still fit, by the henna ceremony; I have a different outfit to wear.

My husband may possibly help by taking some photos, and starting/stopping my phone to create short video clips. I'm sure he'll be by my side, as usual, whenever possible throughout the pre-wedding stuff with me, my Mother & cousin. I'm definitely not used to doing anything without him!

Being organized gives me a sense of accomplishment, and gives me confidence in planning ahead! They say, usually something always goes wrong, or not as planned with everyone's wedding day. I feel, the more you plan in detail, the less risk of something not going as planned, or forgetting an important detail.

Planning our wedding reminds of the countless times I had to plan way ahead, and in detail for my professional photo shoots, or for my clients photo shoots. So, undoubtedly I'm no stranger to this kind of planning.

Wedding days go by so quickly, but can take months or even a full year to plan! Gotta capture as much as possible on video & in photos; then you can look back on the fond memories you created with loved ones!
